This document describes the preview at tiktokstory.app, hosted on a dedicated DigitalOcean server. The service is still being tested.

Your current task

The open tab holds the input and current results in memory so you can continue to the downloader. They are not placed in the page URL or saved as browsing history by this application. Refreshing the page clears this task.

Temporary server memory

Lookup results are cached for up to 45 seconds, bounded by Story expiry. Media references last up to 30 minutes and never beyond the reported Story expiry. Expired entries are unusable immediately and removed on subsequent requests or process restart. Media files are streamed without application disk storage. Your browser may buffer media and stores files you download.

Requests and logs

The server contacts TikTok and its media services without a visitor’s TikTok credentials. This application does not install analytics or advertising trackers and does not intentionally write usernames or raw TikTok media links to application logs. Your IP address is used for temporary request limits. Server and proxy error logs may contain connection details. Application logs rotate when storage limits are reached and currently have no fixed maximum age. System logs are configured with a seven-day retention limit and storage limits. Infrastructure providers may keep separate operational records under their own policies.

Visibility

No TikTok login is requested. Creator-side viewer-list behavior has not been verified, and invisible viewing is not guaranteed. Only accessible public content is supported.
